The Illusion of Control
Surely, most of us know that self-control is a good thing—
part of the fruit of the Spirit.
But there are other forms of control
that quietly steal our peace
and hinder a Spirit-filled life.
Trying to control situations
or the actions of others
only drains our time and energy.
Being “in control” is, in truth, an illusion.
The only thing we are truly given to steward
is our own attitude—
our response to people
and to the circumstances we face.
So let go of the illusion of control.
Turn your focus inward,
to what you have been entrusted with—
yourself.
And rest in this:
there is One who is truly in control.
Know Him.
Trust Him.
Love Him.
For He is faithful
to work all things together
for His good.
